Residential Advisor

Job Description

The House Parent position is key to creating a secure and supportive environment for students. You will manage their daily routines, provide emotional support, and collaborate with parents and staff to ensure a positive boarding experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the well-being and discipline of students in the boarding house.
• Create a welcoming and safe environment for all residents.
• Plan and implement structured programmes for student engagement and development.
• Work closely with teaching staff and other departments to ensure student success.
• Provide support for students in crisis or with specific needs.
• Encourage students to engage in social and extracurricular activities.
• Manage conflict resolution among students effectively.
• Keep up-to-date records of incidents and behaviours as required.
• Monitor and report on academic progress and general welfare.
• Engage in continuous professional development related to child care and education.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
• Further qualifications in child development is preferred

Experience

• Experience in pastoral care or similar residential positions is advantageous.

• Safeguarding Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
