Job Description

As an Animal Behaviourist, you will assess animal behaviour and develop treatment plans to address behavioural issues. Your role will involve collaborating with pet owners, veterinary staff, and other specialists to enhance the well-being of animals in our care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess both physical and psychological factors affecting animal behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour modification strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Educate pet owners on the importance of mental stimulation for their animals.
  • Collaborate with rescue organisations to assess and rehabilitate animals with behavioural issues.
  • Provide training for staff on animal behaviour principles.
  • Create informational resources for clients about common behavioural problems.
  • Offer guidance on the selection of appropriate enrichment tools for pet owners.
  • Network with other behaviourists and professionals in the field to enhance best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Behaviour or Veterinary Sciences
  • Master's degree is a plus
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in behavioural consultation or related field
