Structural Metal Fabricator and Fitter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Metal Fabricator and Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing ship propellers to the highest quality standards and ensuring all work meets customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest quality finish for all ship propeller fittings.
• Work with other tradespersons to complete projects efficiently.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the fabrication process.
• Document all completed tasks and any discrepancies.
• Train apprentices and junior staff in safe working practices.
• Assist in the development of fabrication techniques.
• Support the team in achieving production targets.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship

Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Ship Propeller Finisher or equivalent position

Technical Skills

• Manual dexterity
• Machinery operation

Soft Skills

• Flexibility and adaptability

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of CAD software: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience in quality control: Prior experience with quality assurance processes in metal fabrication.
