Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Policy Advisor to lead our efforts in shaping agriculturally focused public policies. The chosen candidate will work closely with stakeholders to promote sustainable agricultural practices and contribute to the development of comprehensive policy programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research on agricultural policy issues, providing insights to inform decision-making.
  • Draft policy proposals and position papers for stakeholders.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including farmers, government officials, and NGOs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and external groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented policies.
  • Organize and attend public consultations and advocacy meetings.
  • Advocate for the concerns of the agricultural sector in public forums.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align policies with organisational goals.
  • Develop tools and materials for stakeholder education on agricultural policies.
  • Contribute to grant applications and fundraising efforts for agricultural initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Policy, or Environmental Studies
  • Master's degree in Public Policy is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in agricultural policy or public policy roles
