Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Agriculture Development Officer to join our growing team in Weston-super-Mare. The successful candidate will work closely with local farmers, providing guidance on best practices, promoting sustainable farming techniques, and enhancing community engagement in agricultural initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Advise farmers on the integration of sustainable practices.
• Plan and execute community outreach initiatives.
• Work with local agencies to align agricultural goals and policies.
• Compile and analyze data for agricultural productivity assessments.
• Support farmers in applying for funding and grants.
• Create reports detailing agricultural project outcomes.
• Coordinate with other agricultural officers for regional initiatives.
• Lead initiatives for improving soil health and biodiversity.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Advanced degree in Agriculture or Environmental Science is advantageous

Experience

• 5 years of experience in a similar role or related environment
