Job Description

NextGen Urban Solutions is seeking a skilled Urban Planner to join our Edinburgh team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing urban development projects, ensuring compliance with planning regulations, and contributing to community development strategies. This role requires a strong background in urban design, zoning laws, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive urban plans that align with community vision.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and public workshops.
  • Incorporate sustainable practices into urban designs.
  • Prepare project timelines and budgets for urban planning projects.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with urban development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address infrastructure needs.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of zoning laws and planning regulations.
  • Advise on the implementation of urban planning policies.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in community planning or land use management
