Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Journalism Teacher to inspire and educate our students in the art of journalism. The successful candidate will develop comprehensive lesson plans, guide students through news writing and reporting, and promote critical thinking regarding journalism ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans that are interactive and aligned with the journalism curriculum.
  • Evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.
  • Encourage students to engage with current events and understand their significance in journalism.
  • Assist students in building a portfolio that showcases their work in journalism.
  • Facilitate discussions on media ethics and the role of journalism in society.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
  • Implement innovative teaching methods to keep students engaged.
  • Coordinate with the administration regarding course scheduling and logistics.
  • Actively participate in community outreach to raise awareness of the journalism programme.
  • Stay connected with industry trends and incorporate real-world examples into teachings.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in journalism or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in news writing, reporting, and multimedia journalism.
Technical Skills
