Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Science Technician to support our research initiatives in Basildon. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including data collection, animal care, and assisting in laboratory experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Join hands with the veterinary team for pre- and post-operative care.
  • Implement behavioural enrichment strategies for the animals.
  • Assist with the calibration and maintenance of scientific equipment.
  • Participate in collaborative research projects with external organizations.
  • Help in educating the public and stakeholders about animal welfare issues.
  • Participate in audits and inspections as required.
  • Document and report any animal welfare concerns promptly.
  • Support in grant writing and funding proposals related to animal welfare.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or Animal Behaviour
  • Postgraduate qualifications preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role or setting
