Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Science Technician to support our research initiatives in Basildon. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including data collection, animal care, and assisting in laboratory experiments.
Responsibilities
Join hands with the veterinary team for pre- and post-operative care.
Implement behavioural enrichment strategies for the animals.
Assist with the calibration and maintenance of scientific equipment.
Participate in collaborative research projects with external organizations.
Help in educating the public and stakeholders about animal welfare issues.
Participate in audits and inspections as required.
Document and report any animal welfare concerns promptly.
Support in grant writing and funding proposals related to animal welfare.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or Animal Behaviour
Postgraduate qualifications preferred
Experience
3+ years of experience in a similar role or setting
