Job Description

We are looking for a Barge Hand to assist in the safe and efficient operation of our barge fleet. This role requires physical strength and endurance, along with a commitment to upholding safety standards in a demanding marine environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the crew to ensure seamless operations on the barge.
• Identify any potential hazards and take corrective action.
• Document maintenance and repair work carried out on equipment.
• Participate in safety drills and regular training sessions.
• Foster a positive team environment through collaboration and communication.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1+ years of maritime experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Machinery operation
• Equipment maintenance

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with environmental and pollution control regulations: Knowledge of regulations affecting maritime operations.
• Experience working in adverse weather conditions: Proven ability to work effectively in challenging weather.
