Job Description

As a Public Safety Telecommunicator, you will play a pivotal role in our emergency response framework. You will coordinate and dispatch emergency response units to incidents reported by the public or law enforcement officers. Your ability to maintain efficient communication and documentation is crucial to ensuring public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Handle emergency and non-emergency calls efficiently.
  • Ensure clear communication between field units and command centre.
  • Update incident reports and manage case files accurately.
  • Assist in training new telecommunicators when required.
  • Adapt to fluctuating workloads and respond to team needs promptly.
  • Provide feedback to improve operational procedures within the team.
  • Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with policies and technology.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional certifications in emergency dispatching preferred
Experience
  • Prior experience in emergency services or customer service environment preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

Certifications
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent
