We are seeking a knowledgeable Policy Advisor with expertise in law and compliance to join our team in Swindon. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing public policy initiatives that align with regulatory frameworks.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the assessment and formulation of policy documents that resonate with legislative requirements.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify key influencers and collaborators.
  • Review and respond to public consultations and policy proposals.
  • Advise on best practices for compliance across various departments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
  • Assess risk factors associated with non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Create informative materials to guide public and community engagement efforts.
  • Play a lead role in advocacy initiatives to promote relevant policy reforms.
  • Develop and implement data collection strategies to assess policy effectiveness.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Law, Public Policy, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred
  • Policy Analysis Expertise in policy frameworks and analysis for effective decision-making.
  • Legislative Knowledge Strong understanding of legislative processes and compliance requirements.
  • Research Skills High-level research skills for thorough policy assessment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Proficient in building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Critical Thinking Highly adept at evaluating complex issues and proposing solutions.
  • Communication Skills Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork Strong collaborative skills with a focus on team success.
  • Project Management Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Experience working with government agencies: Previous roles involving collaboration with government bodies.
  • Familiarity with international policy frameworks: Experience in understanding global policy trends relevant to local applications.
