Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Policy Advocacy Manager to lead our advocacy efforts in Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that influence policy development at local and national levels. This role requires a deep understanding of the legislative process and strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders effectively.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead policy advocacy initiatives and campaigns.
  • Develop partnerships with other organisations to strengthen advocacy efforts.
  • Conduct impact assessment of policy changes on target communities.
  • Manage public relations and media outreach concerning advocacy issues.
  • Train and support team members in advocacy-related tasks.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and forums for stakeholder engagement.
  • Draft and present policy proposals to government officials.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and legislative processes.
  • Advise senior management on advocacy opportunities and challenges.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or related field
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Advocacy Skills Proven track record of successful advocacy campaigns.
  • Research and Analysis Strong ability to analyse policy issues and data.
  • Public Speaking Skilled in presenting to various audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Experience in building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Communication Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiation Strong negotiation skills to influence policy decisions.
  • Team Leadership Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Analytical Thinking Ability to think critically about complex policy issues.
  • English (Fluent)

  • Fundraising experience: Experience in securing funding for advocacy initiatives.
  • Social media campaigning: Skills in utilising social media for advocacy purposes.
