Job Description

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting our veterinary team with the care and treatment of animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting in procedures, preparing medical equipment, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

  • Help with surgical preparations and animal handling.
  • Deliver excellent service to clients and provide information regarding procedures.
  • Keep treatment areas clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Observe and report on animal conditions to the veterinary team.
  • Assist in managing inventory of medical supplies.
  • Support the team in implementing new protocols and procedures.
  • Educate clients on preventative care and pet wellness.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to clinic discussions.
  • Assist with emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma
  • Further education in veterinary science is a plus
Experience
  • 1-2 years of related experience in animal care
Technical Skills
  • Veterinary software proficiency
  • Basic first-aid knowledge for animals
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Time management
Certifications
  • CPR Certification for Pets (if applicable)
Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Knowledge of pet nutrition: Understanding of dietary needs for various pet species.
