Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to patients in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life for those under their care.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with patients to provide the best possible care.
  • Monitor patient comfort and report any discomfort or distress to nurses.
  • Assist in the preparation and transportation of patients for medical procedures.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff for individualized patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Handle difficult situations calmly and competently.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with healthcare policies.

Requirements

Education
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Math
  • Healthcare-related qualification or certification (e.g., Health Care Assistant Certificate)
Experience
  • Previous work in a healthcare environment is an advantage.
Technical Skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Understanding of patient care protocols
Soft Skills
  • Ability to manage stress effectively
  • Problem-solving skills
Certifications
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Health Care Assistant Certificate (desirable)
Languages
  • English: Fluent
