Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Horse Breeder to join our reputable equine facility in York. The successful candidate will oversee the breeding and management of a herd of horses, ensuring optimal health and adherence to lineage standards. An understanding of equine genetics is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise breeding operations and monitor the health status of the herd.
  • Implement breeding strategies tailored to achieve optimal genetic results.
  • Conduct regular assessments of horse health and nutrition needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure excellent horse care.
  • Maintain detailed records of horse lineage and breeding outcomes.
  • Engage in ongoing education about best practices in horse breeding.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the facilities.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Equine Science or Animal Science (preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in horse breeding and herd management.
