Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Gas Main Fitter Helper to join our dynamic team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas mains and related equipment, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Support experienced Gas Fitters in the installation and repair of gas pipelines.
• Prepare and maintain work sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in inspecting and testing gas mains for leaks and other failures.
• Help in trenching and backfilling activities as required.
• Follow technical drawings and specifications to complete tasks efficiently.
• Utilize gas-related tools and equipment in performance of duties.
• Participate in training sessions and safety meetings.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness at work sites.

Requirements

Education

• Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card

Experience

• Previous experience in gas main installation or utility construction is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of gas-related tools and equipment
• Basic computer skills

Soft Skills

• Effective communication
• Problem-solving skills

Advantageous

• Demonstrated experience in utility construction: Hands-on experience in completing utility construction projects.
