Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator to join our robust team in Bristol. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in heavy machinery operations, focusing on ensuring that roads are smooth and safe for motorists. You will play a crucial role in our ongoing projects and contribute to maintaining our reputation for quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate road graders, planers, and other heavy machinery to accomplish paving tasks.
• Inspect machinery before operation to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with the preparation and layout of construction sites.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform minor repairs as necessary.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to discuss project specifics.
• Document daily activities and report completed tasks to the Site Manager.
• Promote and adhere to best practices for health and safety on site.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance operational skills and safety knowledge.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience operating heavy machinery, particularly road graders.

Technical Skills

• Operation of heavy machinery

Certifications

• CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) Certification
• CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Familiarity with local road regulations: Knowledge of local laws and safety standards governing road construction.
