Job Description

As a Developmental Disabilities Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in providing care, support, and therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities. Working closely with clients of all ages, you'll help facilitate their independence and improve their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensively assess clients' developmental needs and capabilities.
  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate therapeutic programs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions tailored to individual clients.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to measure progress and efficacy.
  • Connect clients and families with community resources and support.
  • Document and report on clients’ progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Foster a caring and supportive environment for clients and families.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work, or related field
  • Professional license (e.g., licensed clinical social worker, licensed professional counsellor)
Experience
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
