Ophthalmic Medical Technologist

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Medical Technologist to join our team. Your role will involve performing laboratory tests and analysing results to provide accurate diagnostic information to healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating closely with medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist with patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality control standards in the laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical standards in all laboratory activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve laboratory processes and procedures.
• Assist the Laboratory Manager with research and development projects.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
