Excavating and Loading Machine and Dragline Operators, Surface Mining

Job Description

We are currently seeking skilled Excavating and Loading Machine and Dragline Operators to join our mining operations team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery in a surface mining environment to ensure production targets are met daily.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures during operations.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Assist with loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
• Participate in training and development activities as required.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as required.

Requirements

Education

• Valid driving license for heavy machinery
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Experience

• Previous experience operating a payloader or similar heavy machinery in a mining environment.

• Heavy Machinery Operation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience operating other heavy machinery in a mining environment: Experience with excavators, bulldozers, and dump trucks.
• Experience with maintenance tasks on heavy machinery: Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance techniques.
• Additional qualifications or training in health and safety: Preferably trained in industry-standard health and safety practices.
