First-Line Supervisor of Production and Operating Workers

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced First-Line Supervisor of Production and Operating Workers to manage our clay shop operations in Birmingham. You will lead a dedicated team, ensure high production standards, and enhance the efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the clay shop while supervising staff.
• Ensure all production targets are met on time and within budget.
• Conduct regular quality checks and maintain detailed records.
• Oversee training sessions for new hires and existing staff.
• Work closely with the Production Manager to communicate performance metrics.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and maintenance needs.
• Encourage team participation in problem-solving initiatives.
• Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to quality and teamwork.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field is an asset

Experience

• 5+ years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in the ceramics industry
