Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hog Counter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately counting and monitoring hog populations, ensuring their proper management. Your duties will involve extensive fieldwork and data collection.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hog welfare and growth rates by maintaining accurate records.
  • Utilize GIS software for mapping and management of hog habitats.
  • Engage in fieldwork to assess environmental conditions affecting hog populations.
  • Develop reports summarising trends observed in hog behaviour.
  • Communicate findings with the Livestock Manager and team.
  • Implement improvements to current counting and monitoring methods.
  • Train new team members on counting methodologies and equipment usage.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant qualifications in Animal Husbandry or Agriculture
Experience
  • Experience with livestock farming or population counting is preferred
