Job Description

As a Towboat Captain, you will play a critical role in navigating and operating towboats to ensure the smooth transportation of cargo along inland waterways. Your leadership and navigation skills will help maintain operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Steer and control towboats to ensure smooth transportation of cargo.
  • Conduct safety drills and ensure crew readiness for emergencies.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust navigation routes accordingly.
  • Liaise with shore teams for load planning and operational coordination.
  • Document and report any incidents or accidents during operations.
  • Participate in crew training programs and mentoring new staff.
  • Evaluate and maintain safety equipment and operational readiness.
  • Implement best practices for environmental stewardship.
  • Manage vessel-related documentation and compliance audits.
  • Promote team collaboration and effective working relationships.
