Surgical Technologist

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring that all surgical instruments are sterile and ready for use.

Responsibilities

• Setup and prepare the operating room with necessary instruments.
• Support the surgical team throughout surgical procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is in working order and ready to use.
• Clean up the operating room post-surgery.
• Communicate effectively with team members and patients as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training regarding surgical techniques and protocols.
• Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in training new surgical staff when required.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills

• Manual dexterity
• EMR software proficiency

Soft Skills

• Good communication
• Ability to handle stressful situations

Advantageous

• Experience in trauma or emergency settings: Prior experience in high-stress surgical environments.
