Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a Line Haul Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods between various locations throughout the UK. This role requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport goods and products safely and efficiently over long distances.
• Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Inspect and maintain the vehicle at regular intervals for optimal performance.
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding route changes and delivery instructions.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on the road.
• Assist in loading and unloading cargo when required.
• Maintain logs of daily activities and vehicle inspections.
• Collaborate with the transportation team to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance driving skills and safety awareness.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Class 1 driving licence
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Line Haul Driver

Technical Skills

• Excellent driving skills
• Geographical knowledge

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time Management

Certifications

• Driver CPC qualification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with refrigerated transport: Experience transporting temperature-sensitive goods safely.
• Experience with oversized loads: Experience handling and transporting larger than standard freight.
