Registered Nurse (Circulating Nurse)

Job Description

As a Circulating Nurse, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing the operating room, managing surgical instruments, and providing critical support to the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the surgical team for pre-operative preparation.
• Verify patient information, medications, and allergies.
• Assist anesthesiologists in administering anesthesia.
• Ensure accuracy in surgical counts of instruments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of surgical practices.
• Support patient transportation to recovery room and post-operative care.
• Engage in patient education and safety protocols post-surgery.

Requirements

Education

• Registered Nurse qualification
• Nursing degree or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in scrub and/or anesthetic roles would be advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Surgical Instrument Management
• Emergency Response

Soft Skills

• Collaboration
• Stress Management

Certifications

• BLS & ALS certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR): Knowledge and experience using EHR applications effectively.
• Team Leadership Experience: Previous experience supervising nursing teams is a plus.
