Job Description

As a Certified Direct-Entry Midwife, you'll provide exceptional prenatal, childbirth, and postnatal care to women and their families. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring safe and positive birthing experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular examinations and assessments of pregnant patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Support women in choosing their birth settings and methods.
  • Assist with the education and support of breastfeeding techniques.
  • Collaborate with midwifery assistants and obstetricians as needed.
  • Monitor birth processes and manage emergency situations effectively.
  • Provide thorough documentation for all care provided.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Maintain effective communication with families regarding care.
  • Promote community awareness of maternal health resources.

Requirements

Education
  • Certification as a Direct-Entry Midwife
  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Completion of an accredited midwifery program
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Direct-Entry Midwife
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of prenatal care best practices
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
