Petrologist

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Petrologist to analyse and interpret geological samples from various sites. The successful candidate will specialise in rocks and minerals, contributing significantly to oil and gas exploration projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments to assess the physical and chemical properties of rocks.
• Utilise geological software like Petrel and ArcGIS for data analysis.
• Provide technical support in drilling programmes and resource management.
• Prepare technical papers on findings for publication and presentation.
• Identify and catalogue geological samples according to established protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field
• Master's degree in Geology is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in Petrology or a related field
